This comprehensive 15-week course explores the fundamentals of IT support, with an in-depth focus on healthcare information technology. The curriculum encompasses computer hardware, networking, operating systems, cybersecurity, and specialized healthcare IT systems, as well as compliance requirements. The entry-level course is designed for individuals seeking to launch a career specifically in healthcare IT. Through a range of interactive labs, engaging lectures, and asynchronous homework, individuals will learn to design, configure, and troubleshoot various systems, master both wired and wireless technologies, and gain hands-on experience with healthcare-specific applications, data standards, and regulatory frameworks. As part of the course, learners will prepare for and take the CompTIA A+ Certification exam while developing specialized knowledge in healthcare IT support. Upon successful course completion, learners will be equipped to pursue entry-level hospital IT roles such as Healthcare IT Support Specialist, Clinical Systems Support Technician, or Healthcare Help Desk Analyst, and will have foundational knowledge aligned with HIMSS and AHIMA certification pathways.
