The AO-K program transforms the delivery system for adult education in Kansas by using Career Pathways to deliver career and technical education simultaneously with adult basic skills instruction. Students complete short term certificate programs aligned with labor market needs, leading to industry endorsed credentials and immediate jobs.

This unit is responsible for implementing employment and training reviews associated with the Workforce Investment Act using federal and/or state developed monitoring guides. CRC unit exists to review administrative policies, practices, standards and systems to ensure local areas are performing within the parameters established by these directives.

A Governors Initiative administered by the Kansas Board of Regents, CTE is a program which pays the tuition for high school juniors and seniors taking tiered technical education through a community or technical college while they are college.

The Federal Bonding Program provides individual fidelity bonds to employers for job applicants who are (or may be) denied coverage because unique barriers.

Incumbent Worker Training Program provides grants to employers to assist with certain expenses associated with skills upgrade training for full-time employees of the company.

Workforce Network of Kansas Board adopted the name KANSASWORKS State Board in concert with the KANSASWORKS brand. This Board provides information to the Governor, Legislature, appropriate public and private agencies and the public on matters pertaining to employment and training programs, services and facilities.

KHPOP provides education, training and employment in the healthcare sector to TANF, SNAP, and low-income individuals. Eligible individuals, via lottery selection, may receive training in high-demand occupations in select healthcare fields. Individuals benefit by having an opportunity for improved quality of life, while reducing healthcare labor shortages and public assistance needs.

The OJT program is an opportunity for job seekers as well as employers. Job seekers earn wages while learning new skills and employers receive funds to offset the extraordinary costs of training. Employers can be reimbursed up to 75% of the wages for eligible trainees and training can last up to 26 weeks.

Older Kansans Employment Program is an employment placement program with emphasis on employment in the private sector.

Registered Apprenticeship combines employment, on-the-job learning overseen by a mentor and related technical instruction. The individual to gains a certificate in a demand occupation and businesses and industries will be equipped with a qualified workforce.

Rural Opportunity Zones are 77 counties offering incentives to new full-time residents. Interested individuals may be eligible to receive an incentive of Kansas income tax waivers for up to five years and/or student loan repayments up to $15,000.

Senior Community Service Employment Program is a community service and work-based job training program for low income, unemployed, older Americans. Training serves as a catalyst for unsubsidized employment for participants age 55 or older.

Trade Adjustment Assistance Program helps workers who have lost their jobs as a result of foreign trade. Eligibility is contingent upon USDOL's certification of TAA petitions and yields a variety of benefits for the individual.

Worker Adjustment Retraining Notification program helps ensure advance notice in cases of qualified plant closings and mass layoffs.

Workforce AID (Aligned with Industry Demand) supports Kansas' strategic plan for economic development, keeping Kansas businesses competitive and promoting a more robust economy.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit assists individuals to move from welfare to work. Individuals gain on-the-job experience by encouraging private employers to hire within one of several targeted groups. Employers benefit from a reduced employer’s federal income tax liability.
