Description
The electrocardiography and phlebotomy technician program provides students with an introduction to the cardiovascular anatomy, relations of other body systems to heart health, legal and ethical consideration, patient assessment techniques, the process of how to administer and document ECG with proper lead placement, and basic interpretation of ECG tracings. It also covers medical law and ethics, safety and infection control, venipuncture equipment and procedure, dermal puncture equipment and procedures, venipuncture complications, and other special collections. This program will cover aspects of different types of cardiovascular testing such as Holter testing, stress testing, HIPAA requirements, how to document completed procedures, and how to instruct patients to seek medical attention when abnormal test results occur.
