Description
Course Description: The CNA refresher course is designed for current CNAs who have not met the requirement that they have been employed to perform nursing tasks in the past 24 consecutive months. The courses will include the following topics: the nurse aide responsibility in the health care delivery, communication, resident’s rights, safety, infection control, basic nursing skills, personal care skills, end of life care, care of the cognitively impaired resident, and basic restorative services (Quoted from Kansas Department of Health and Environment [KDHE], 2012)
Length: KDADS requires that the course is a total of 10 hours, completed within 1 week. This two-day course will be evenly divided between didactic and laboratory/clinical experiences as required by KDADS. The course is offered periodically throughout the semester.
