Description
Nursing is a rewarding career with an optimistic employment future. JCCC's registered nurse program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, and approved by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. Our faculty are well qualified and experienced in nursing practice and education.
Students receive clinical practice with client populations across the lifespan, ranging from infants to older adults. Experiences are offered in maternal child nursing, adult/older adult medical-surgical nursing, mental health nursing, pediatric nursing, and various community health settings.
An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree qualifies graduates to sit for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam, paving the way for optimistic employment as a registered nurse managing direct patient care in the most trusted profession.
Additionally, the LPN to RN bridge option provides licensed practical nurses wanting to become registered nurses the opportunity to do so. Contact the nursing program for details.
Note: The registered nursing program is a selective admission program with limited enrollment. Prospective students should attend a group information session and must meet with a healthcare counselor. Current Kansas CNA certification is required for application to the nursing program (not required for LPNs). Current AHA Health Providers CPR Certification (may be satisfied with EMS 121) is required before starting the program. Visit the program website for application materials, or contact JCCC Program personnel for additional information at (913)469-3157.
Students must earn a grade of “C” or higher in all coursework.
