Description
The Medical Assistant program is designed to prepare the student for an entry-level position in a physician’s office, a medical clinic, or a laboratory. The program prepares the graduate to perform various technical and administrative skills to function as a member of a healthcare team. The student develops skills in phlebotomy, electrocardiograms, medication administration, minor surgical techniques, emergency medical procedures, and office procedures. The program is offered in a blended format offering students the flexibility to attend classes both in person and online. All graduates of the program are eligible for registry with American Medical Technologist (AMT) as a Registered Medical Assistant after passing the RMA examination for medical assistants. To be considered for enrollment into this program, all admissions requirements must be met.
