Job Description
Qualificaons:
Educaon/Cerficaon: High school diploma or equivalent,
Special Knowledge/Skills: Communicaon, basic repair, hand tools
Experience: Previous experience preferred but not required
Major Responsibilies and Dues:
● Perform roune maintenance and daily inspecon of equipment
● Follow all maintenance procedures and complete documentaon
● Complete maintenance records and submit as required
● Analyze and resolve maintenance issues in a mely manner
● Follow district policies and safety regulaons.
● Assists with snow removal as necessary
● Performs other dues as assigned in order to ensure a well-maintained, clean, orderly and safe
environment
Fleet/PM Grounds Mechanic non-cerfied
● Perform roune maintenance and daily inspecons on grounds equipment such as lubricang,
fueling and cleaning
● Perform maintenance repairs on snow equipment
● Equipment involved can include mowers, tractors, skid steers, versa-handlers, etc
Irrigaon
● Analyze and resolve irrigaon problems so they are operaonal
● Inspect irrigated areas to insure adequate soaking and prevent waste of water
● Install, adjust, maintain, and repair irrigaon systems to lawns are well watered
● Se out watering equipment for lawns, trees, and flower beds without irrigaon systems to
ensure all lawns/vegetaon are watered.
● Assist with determining irrigaon maintenance procedures and budget to ensure smooth
operaon of the irrigaon area.
● Maintains own hand tools so they are available for use
Supervisory Responsibilies: None
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Hand tools, Standard equipment including district computer and phone.
Posture: Some sing, Frequent standing and walking
Moon: Frequent walking, reaching, carrying, stooping, kneeling, and pushing/pulling
Liing: Up to 50 pounds
Environment: Primarily indoors but subject to extreme condions
Mental Demands: Maintain focus, decision making, remain composed under pressure
