POSITION: Seasonal Labor
DEPARTMENT: Parks and Public Lands, Underground Utilities, Refuse, or other varying departments
REPORTS TO: Assigned Supervisor
PAY GRADE: 07-08 Hourly

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
Under general supervision performs work to maintain grounds around various City parks, golf course, cemetery, horticulture, or Utility facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Mowing, trimming, spraying, and weed-eating
• Moving trash cans and emptying trash
• General Maintenance of Facilities as needed
• Cleaning Restrooms

SUPERVISION-RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS: None

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must be minimum 16 years of age, high school graduation or GED, current drivers license, and experience in operation of tractors, riding mowers, and weed eaters.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to perform physical work including lifting and carrying 25-50 pounds regularly, and up to 75-100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to make minor repairs to tractors, mowers, weed eaters, and spraying equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit climb, bend, crawl, kneel, twist, push, pull, reach, grasp, and perform similar body movements;
• Possesses hand/eye/foot coordination adequate to operate Grounds maintenance equipment
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, including but not limited to, rain, extreme heat, and wind
• Ability to follow oral instructions
• Participate in City safety program
