Job Description

Heartspring is seeking a Home Assistant Supervisor to help lead our residential team supporting children and young adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities. This role is ideal for someone with direct care experience who is ready to grow as a leader while helping create a safe, supportive, and structured home environment where students can build independence, develop life skills, and reach their goals.

 

What You'll Do

  • Partner with the Home Supervisor to provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
  • Help supervise, coach, and develop team members while promoting accountability, teamwork, open communication, and a positive work environment
  • Monitor the implementation of student schedules, instructional programs, Student Support Plans, and daily routines to ensure consistency and quality of care
  • Support students with activities of daily living, community integration, life skills, and individualized goals
  • Help coordinate student services and care within the group home, communicating important updates and concerns with families, team members, and internal partners
  • Assist with Quality Assurance checks and ensure compliance with Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE) requirements and residential regulations
  • Monitor student health and safety, respond appropriately during behavioral or medical situations, report incidents, and act quickly during emergencies
  • Assist with managing the group home budget, maintaining required records, and ensuring compliance with financial guidelines
  • Maintain accurate documentation and appropriately handle confidential and protected health information
  • Model Heartspring's values while helping create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for both students and employees

  • Lifting: Up to 30 lbs. frequently; 50 lbs. rarely
  • Carrying: 10-15 lbs. frequently; 50 lbs. seldom
  • Sitting/Standing/Walking: sit rarely; stand constantly; walk frequently
  • Climbing: rarely
  • Bending/Twisting/Kneeling/Reaching: frequently
  • Reaching: frequently.
  • Pushing/Pulling: 10-15 lbs. occasionally; 50 lbs. rarely
  • Dexterity: constant hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Stamina/Endurance: mild exertion frequently; heavy exertion occasionally
  • Vision/Hearing: constant ability to see clearly and hear instructions or warnings
  • Mind-Body Connection: frequent awareness of body positioning and task execution
