Job Description
This role supports a large battery manufacturing facility by safely uncrating, moving, and positioning heavy industrial machinery and cargo. You will work as part of a hands-on team that unloads equipment from trailers and shipping containers, relocates it across a large production floor, and sets it in place using a variety of manual and powered tools and material handling equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Unload and load cargo from trailers and shipping containers using appropriate material handling equipment and tools.
+ Uncrate, crate, unpack, and pack machinery and other cargo safely and efficiently.
+ Move, relocate, and roughly set machinery and cargo to designated locations on the production floor.
+ Use manual and powered hand tools, such as wrenches, drills, and other construction-related tools, to support equipment moving and setup.
+ Operate material handling equipment, including manual toe jacks, manual skates, dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts, as assigned and trained.
+ Perform heavy lifting and continuous physical labor, including frequent bending, crawling, and walking throughout the day.
+ Follow detailed instructions and layout plans to ensure machinery and cargo are placed accurately and safely.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing general cleaning and housekeeping tasks as needed.
+ Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including OSHA standards and site-specific safety rules.
+ Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate moves and ensure efficient workflow across the large facility.
Essential Skills
+ At least 1 year of experience in construction or a labor-intensive physical role.
+ Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting and sustained physical labor throughout the workday.
+ Ability to walk more than 10 miles per day across a large facility.
+ Ability to bend, crawl, and walk repeatedly and comfortably during the shift.
+ Experience with general labor tasks in construction, industrial, or similar environments.
+ Proficiency in using manual hand tools and basic power tools safely.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
+ Willingness to obtain an OSHA 10 certification if not already held.
+ Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and in active production areas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience operating forklifts, gradalls, or other lifts is a plus.
+ Experience in construction-related tasks such as basic carpentry is beneficial.
+ Familiarity with material handling tools such as dollies, pallet jacks, manual skates, and manual toe jacks.
+ Experience performing cleaning and general housekeeping duties in industrial or construction settings.
+ Comfort working in hot, non-climate-controlled environments.
+ Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate moves and tasks with others.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large battery manufacturing facility with approximately 2 million square feet of space. Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, focusing on material and equipment movement across the production floor and surrounding areas. The environment is hot and non-climate-controlled, requiring comfort working in high-temperature conditions. Typical hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime on Saturdays as needed. You will regularly use manual and powered hand tools, manual toe jacks, manual skates, dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts or other lifts where trained and authorized. The setting is industrial and construction-oriented, with a strong emphasis on safety, proper use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to site procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of De Soto, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 – $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
