Community Independence Navigator

Full-time • Salina, KS

Your Day-to-Day:

As a Navigator, you will support people of any age, any disability as they set and maintain goals to become independent or maintain their independence in their community.

  1. Active listening to individualized needs, helping others plan and set/achieve goals.
  2. Empowering people with disabilities to address barriers and gain independent life skills.
  3. Assistance with locating and accessing various community resources.

You may also facilitate small group discussions to encourage peer support, foster social interactions, increase awareness of independent living philosophy, and educate about our services. Meetings with consumers will occur one on one or in small groups (virtual/in person (home)/in office/in the community).

Skills You Bring:

  • Excellent verbal/written communication
  • Strong interpersonal and active listening skills
  • Ability to build rapport with others

Training will build your skills in goal setting strategies, independent living philosophy, and knowledge of available resources. High School Diploma or GED required and two years’ relevant work experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age and be able to pass background checks.
