About You
You are someone who has a strong understanding of medical billing processes, payer guidelines, and attention to detail. We need someone who can ensure proper claim details, billing compliance, and timely claims resolution to support the organization's financial goals. In the role of Medical Billing Specialist II, you will be responsible for accurately preparing and submitting medical claims to appropriate payers.

About The Position
Review and process claims for services rendered to ensure accurate billing to insurance payers and patients.
Verify accuracy of billing information, including procedure codes (CPT), diagnosis codes (ICD-10), modifiers, and patient demographics.
Submit primary and secondary claims electronically or via paper, as required.
Resolve claim rejections and errors by correcting and resubmitting in a timely manner.
Monitor unpaid or delayed claims; initiate follow-up or re-bill as necessary.
Collaborate with coding, registration, and clinical teams to resolve billing issues or obtain missing information.
Generate claims and statements as dictated by scope.
Respond to billing inquiries professionally and promptly.
Assist with AR follow-up to ensure claims are being processed and reimbursed timely.
Stay current with billing regulations, payer requirements, and compliance guidelines (e.g., HIPAA).
Meet department productivity, accuracy, and quality benchmarks
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle operations.
Knowledge of healthcare billing practices, insurance processes, and medical terminology.
Proficient in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech, NextGen).
Understanding of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding, and claim submission standards.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Preferred Requirements:
Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPB, CPC, or equivalent).
Experience in billing for hospital, physician, or multi-specialty group practices.
Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance guidelines.
