Job Description
Purpose Assist the school nurse in the smooth and efficient operation of the school health service to realize maximum positive impact on the educational environment.
Reports to District Nurse
General Responsibilities
• Support school health services
• Maintain accurate health records
• Ensure student safety and health compliance
Essential Functions
• Assists school nurse with vision and hearing screenings
• Maintains student health records, including immunizations
• Assists with scoliosis screenings • Assists in administering first aid and emergency care
• Assists in preventing and controlling communicable disease
• Performs clerical duties including typing, filing, and computer input
• Records and reports pertinent data for Student Management System
• Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
• Requires prolonged sitting or standing, and use of equipment including repetitive motions and computer eye fatigue
Work Environment
• Ability to handle a fast-paced, intense work environment
• Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions
