Job Title: Skilled Construction Laborer
Job Description
The Assistant Foreman supports exterior balcony waterproofing activities on a multi-family construction project in Mission, KS. This role works closely with foremen, laborers, and craftsmen on-site to ensure high-quality workmanship, efficient project progress, and a safe, organized jobsite.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with waterproofing exterior balconies on a multi-family construction project, following established methods and quality standards.
+ Support daily construction activities including general labor tasks, concrete work, carpentry, framing, and finishing as directed.
+ Perform jobsite cleanup on a regular basis to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
+ Work collaboratively with foremen, laborers, and craftsmen to complete assigned tasks and meet project milestones.
+ Follow instructions from supervisors and experienced team members, asking questions when needed to ensure tasks are completed correctly.
+ Operate basic power tools and equipment safely and in accordance with site procedures and training.
+ Assist with concrete finishing tasks and other trade-related work as needed, under guidance from experienced personnel.
+ Contribute to drywall, welding, and other construction activities when required, within the scope of training and experience.
+ Read or interpret simple blueprints or directions as needed to support construction and waterproofing work.
+ Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new skills and construction techniques and apply feedback to improve performance.
Essential Skills
+ Hands-on general labor experience in a construction setting at an intermediate level.
+ Relevant construction experience in areas such as concrete, carpentry, framing, finishing, and general labor.
+ Ability to perform concrete finishing tasks under supervision.
+ Experience using power tools safely in a commercial construction environment.
+ Basic understanding of blueprints or construction drawings to support assigned tasks.
+ Ability to work effectively with foremen, laborers, and craftsmen as part of a coordinated team.
+ Capacity to follow directions consistently and complete tasks to required standards.
+ Strong willingness to learn and develop skills in waterproofing and broader construction trades.
+ Reliability and readiness to perform physical labor, including cleanup and material handling on a commercial jobsite.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in carpentry or laborer roles in commercial or residential construction.
+ Exposure to welding, drywall installation, and other trade-related tasks.
+ Comfort working on exterior structures such as balconies and multi-family buildings.
+ Ability to adapt to changing site priorities and support multiple types of construction work.
+ Positive attitude toward mentorship and advancement within a structured field organization.

Work Environment

Standard construction attire, including appropriate work boots and safety gear, is required, and you use typical construction tools and equipment while adhering to site safety practices.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olathe, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.40 – $42.94/hr.
