Day to Day
Indeed’s Marketplace Data Platform (MDP) is Indeed’s ML feature platform and product data platform. Every day, you will be on a mission to accelerate AI/ML innovation, making ML effortless and data consistent across the entire ecosystem. Your impact scales to 665M+ job seekers, 20 million+ jobs, and 3.5M+ employers globally across 60+ countries. MDP owns the full ML feature lifecycle (ingestion, feature engineering, online and offline serving, monitoring, and governance) and is the source of truth for ML and product teams powering Search, Recommendations and more across Indeed, Glassdoor, and the broader Recruit network.
As a Senior Product Manager on MDP, you will own the platform’s data discovery, understanding and governance tooling as well as its economics – the systems that make data discoverable, trustworthy, and compliant, and the levers that bring cost and usage efficiency to the entire platform. You will define the vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmap for this area, partnering with engineering, UX, and science leadership. You will work closely with diverse clients across the Indeed ecosystem, anticipate their needs in a fast-moving market, and balance near-term demands against long-term platform health. Above all, you will drive economies of scale: capabilities and data assets built once and reused across product surfaces, governance that scales without slowing teams down, and clear visibility into platform cost and usage so investment follows ROI.
Responsibilities
+ Define and own the vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmap for data discovery, understanding, and governance.
+ Engage clients and autonomously drive discovery across the Indeed ecosystem; balance customer needs, market dynamics, and business direction; anticipate evolving ML and GenAI patterns.
+ Design for interoperability across adjacent surfaces, APIs, and data contracts; drive alignment on shared dependencies.
+ Partner with engineering on architecture and capability decisions; balance customer value with scalability, latency, and cost.
+ Define and monitor adoption, freshness, lineage coverage, and feature reuse; iterate post-launch on feedback and data.
+ Communicate complex technical context to senior leadership and partners – crisp written and verbal updates on risks and trade-offs.
+ Mentor junior PMs and engineers – sharing product thinking, roadmapping, and customer-centric trade-off frameworks to raise the bar on product practice within MDP.
Skills/Competencies
+ Requires Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years relevant experience, 14 years of relevant experience, or equivalent in education and experience.
+ Technical background with a deep understanding of software development teams and how ML engineers, applied scientists, and data analysts work, with a focus on delivering an exceptional developer experience for teams building on platform capabilities.
+ Proven track record building and scaling feature platforms, ML infrastructure, or data platforms that solve complex technical challenges and create meaningful impact for users and internal teams.
+ Expertise across the ML lifecycle, including feature engineering, online and offline serving, monitoring, and the technologies that support each stage of model development and deployment.
+ Familiarity with feature platform architecture and operations, including streaming and batch pipelines, online and offline feature stores, point-in-time-correct training data, freshness, governance, lineage, and discovery.
+ Demonstrated success improving platform efficiency through cost attribution, usage and adoption metrics, capability reuse, and data-driven decision-making in ambiguous, high-impact environments.
+ Working knowledge of privacy and data governance frameworks, including PII, GDPR, and CCPA, and their implications for platform design, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
