Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):+ Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure proper sterilization of instruments
+ Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
+ Perform accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments pre- and post-procedure
+ Support patient positioning and surgical site preparation (draping)
+ Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and OR team members to ensure efficient workflow
+ Prepare and organize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures
Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:?+ Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (surgical setting preferred).
+ Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in various surgical specialties (i.e., General, Ortho, Urology, and GYN).
+ Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
+ Two to three years of experience working in an operating room setting or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) upon hire, and maintain current
+ Must be proficient in the following specialties within 6 months: a. Gen b. Gyn c. Urol d. Vasc e. ENT/Plastics
+ Must be proficient in one of the following specialties within 6 months: a. Major Vascular b. Ortho c. Neuro
+ Proficient is defined as an associate who can perform cases in that specialty independently.
