Job Title: Design EngineerJob Description

Join our team as a Design Engineer, where you will take ownership of design and project management with the support of experienced leadership. You will be responsible for creating and managing 3D tool designs, coordinating with manufacturing teams, and ensuring the efficient production of high-quality tools for the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

+ Review customer requirements to create full 3D modeled tool designs and tool prints using Catia V5.

+ Create and release 3D and 2D data packages for manufacturing.

+ Coordinate with manufacturing work teams on new project releases and resolve manufacturing issues.

+ Review and modify customer-provided tool designs for material optimization and efficiency.

+ Select materials and other subcontracting vendors, and manage purchase requisitions.

+ Manage customer design review meetings, status updates, and other correspondence.

+ Assist the quality team with AS9100D document requirements and audit assistance.

Essential Skills

+ Mechanical design experience.

+ Proficiency in Catia V5.

+ Experience in aerospace, composites, ERP systems, and manufacturing.

+ Excellent print reading and mechanical visualization skills.

+ Ability to work well in a team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Plastics Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or a similar field.

+ Aptitude for 3D modeling and creative static and/or mechanical designs.

+ Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with manufacturing staff and customers.

+ Problem-solving abilities to understand concerns and gain cooperation for quick and effective solutions.

+ Efficiency and productivity with time management, along with a good work ethic and attendance record.

+ Versatile team member willing to drive company success and contribute in various ways.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arkansas City, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $45.00/hr.
