Job Description
The Youth Engagement Specialist works directly with students, schools, employers, and community partners to prepare youth for successful careers and post-secondary opportunities. This position provides individualized career coaching and case management while coordinating work-based learning experiences - including job shadows, internships, career fairs, workshops, and employer partnerships, that help students build the skills and experience needed for future success.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain relationships with school district administrators, teachers, students, employers, and community partners to promote and deliver WBL activities.
- Serve as a liaison between education and business by coordinating career awareness experiences in targeted employment sectors, including guest speakers, job shadowing, mock interviews, field trips, mentoring, and company tours.
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate job fairs, career days, workshops, seminars, and other employment-related events.
- Coordinate and support student participation in work experiences, internships, career exploration activities, and other individualized services identified through case management.
- Collect, track, and report participation data and outcomes related to WBL activities.
- Collaborate with internal staff and external partners to ensure high-quality, consistent WBL programming.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
