Job Description
Omega Thermal Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical CAD Designer or Manager to assist and/or lead our drafting and design operations. You will bridge the gap between engineering and production by setting CAD standards, mentoring a team of designers, and optimizing our design-to-manufacturing workflows.
Job responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce CAD standards, templates, and best practices across all mechanical projects.
- Manage and evaluate CAD software, computers and printers.
- Analyze design workflows and implement process improvements to reduce development and fabrication times.
- Oversee drawing accuracy, manufacturability, shipping and compliance with industry codes and client specifications.
- Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers, Purchasing, Sales, Project Managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure deliverables meet project milestones and budget constraints.
- Create 3D Solidworks models and drawings from sketches, concepts, or contract documents.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical CAD drafting/design
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Advanced, hands-on expertise in SolidWorks systems
- Deep understanding of mechanical design and fabrication principles
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage time, schedules, and multiple projects simultaneously
