Job Description

Has overall responsibility for performance of the company’s machinery and equipment with the prime goal being the operation of all machinery and equipment at maximum capability with zero downtime.

Knowledge of advanced mechanical concepts

Knowledge of advanced electrical concepts

Ability to communicate well with others

Good organizational skills

Ability to follow both written and oral instructions

Ability to perform basic mathematic operations and read a ruler

Ability to stand on ones feet for an entire 10-1/2 hour shift

• Ensure that any unsafe working conditions are corrected immediately.
• Trouble-shoot all machinery in order to detect problems which could lead to breakdowns and repair off-shift. All major equipment repairs should be accomplished personally or under Supervisor’s direct supervision.  Coordinate repairs with Plant Manager and Night Shift Supervisor according to production requirements.
• Oversee Company Preventive Maintenance Procedure.
• Oversee Company Calibration Procedure.
• Maintain inventory of proper lubricants/oils for equipment.
• Maintain an adequate and organized supply of spare parts and continually seek out more economical sources of supply.
• Supervise the activities of the Janitor to ensure that equipment is being properly cleaned.
