Job Description

The primary job responsibility is the cutting of box wraps.

Ability to communicate well with others

Ability to follow both written and oral instructions

Ability to perform basic mathematic operations

Visual acuity to spot defects with the box wraps

Ability to read a ruler

Ability to lift stacked sheets weighing 40# to 60”

Ability to stand on ones feet for an entire 10 hour shift

1. Arrive prior to start of shift to ensure you are ready to begin work when your shift begins.  Lubricate Knife and Sheeter prior to start of shift.
2. Cut jobs according to production copy.
3. Wrap is to only be cut when a production blank is available to verify size, caliper, and grade.
4. Wrap the material around the blank and ensure no copy is folding over the box folds and that none is trimmed off.  Cut according to approved proof layout when available.  Notify Plant Manager of any issues.
5. Cut material as efficiently as possible to maximize production—ensure the stock is squarely against both the back gauge and the side guide.
6. While cutting the wrap, watch for variation in color, graphics mis-registration, spots, streaks, scratches, picking, hickies etc. and notify the Plant Manager of any issues.
7. Maintain a clean work area to include cleaning of sheeter, power knife, and floor.
