Job Description

Respiratory Therapy Student – PRN

Location: UH Lakewood Department: Respiratory Therapy

Join our patient-focused team and gain valuable hands-on experience while completing your Respiratory Therapy education. Under the supervision of a credentialed Respiratory Therapist, you will administer respiratory treatments and tests, maintain equipment, and contribute to high-quality patient care across all age groups.

What You’ll Do

+ Administer prescribed respiratory treatments and diagnostic tests

+ Perform cleaning and preventive maintenance on respiratory equipment

+ Document procedures and patient information accurately

+ Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team

+ Provide care in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards

Minimum Requirements

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Currently enrolled in an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program

+ Completed at least the 1st semester of clinical rotations

+ Current Missouri education permit

+ Current CPR certification (required for continued employment)

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; assistance required for heavier loads

+ Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Knowledge of the human development process and ability to work with all ages

+ RRT credential must be obtained within six weeks of program graduation
