Job Summary
The Roofing Installer installs, assembles, and supports residential roofing systems on modular home units during the manufacturing process. This position works in an indoor warehouse/plant environment and follows standardized production methods to ensure roofing systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable building codes and quality standards.
This role focuses on new construction roofing installation in the plant and field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Install residential roofing systems on modular home units according to production plans and work instructions
- Measure, cut, and install roof decking, underlayment and roofing materials (asphalt shingles, metal roofing, or other approved materials).
- Install flashing, drip edge, ridge vents, soffit and gable vents, and related roof components
- Apply sealants, adhesives, and fasteners to ensure proper weatherproofing and leak prevention
- Install roof trusses, sheathing, and structural roofing components as needed
- Perform visual inspections and basic quality checks to verify proper installation and weathertight seals
- Read and follow basic blueprints, schematics, and layout markings
- Identify and report installation issues, damaged materials, or quality concerns to supervisors
- Coordinate work with framing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and finishing teams
- Safely operate roofing tools and equipment, including nail guns, saws, and lifts
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety policies, including fall protection protocols
- Meet production timelines while maintaining quality and safety expectations
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and applicable building codes preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Familiarity with roofing tools and equipment (nail guns, roofing hatchets, chalk lines, etc.) preferred
- A positive attitude and ability to work independently and with a team
- Willingness to learn and follow standardized production methods
- Ability to prioritize safety in a manufacturing or construction environment

Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and reach throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights, and work in confined spaces
- Comfortable working on sloped and elevated surfaces with appropriate fall protection
- Ability to work indoors in a warehouse environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures
Work Schedule & Benefits
- Full-time schedule, typically Monday-Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm.
- Overtime may be required based on production needs.
