Job Title: Vehicle Upfitter / Assembly Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on installing cabinets, drawers, ladder racks, and other specialized equipment into a variety of vehicles, primarily Ford models. You will use a range of hand and power tools to complete detailed assembly builds in a clean, organized, and team-oriented environment. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and a positive attitude while performing physical tasks such as bending and lifting, sometimes in awkward positions.
Responsibilities
+ Install cabinets, drawers, ladder racks, and other equipment into a mix of different vehicles, primarily Ford models such as F-150 and similar platforms.
+ Perform upfitting and assembly tasks according to provided specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
+ Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to complete vehicle assembly builds safely and efficiently.
+ Inspect completed installations to ensure proper fit, function, and overall quality before vehicles move to the next stage.
+ Follow established production processes and contribute to maintaining a smooth workflow on the line.
+ Work collaboratively with team members at your station and across the line to meet daily production goals.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and handling of tools and materials.
+ Adhere to all safety procedures and consistently use required personal protective equipment.
+ Perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and working in awkward positions as needed to complete installations.
+ Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude to support a productive team environment.
Essential Skills
+ Experience using hand tools for assembly and installation work.
+ Experience using power tools safely and effectively in a production or assembly environment.
+ Background in assembly, installing, upfitting, or general production work.
+ Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and high-quality installations.
+ Ability to perform physical work, including bending, lifting, and working in awkward positions.
+ Commitment to reliable attendance and maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude.
+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established processes and safety procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous experience as a vehicle upfitter or in automotive-related assembly is beneficial.
+ Comfort working with a variety of vehicle types and configurations.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team setting with 10-20 individuals per line and 1-3 individuals per station.
+ Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, steel toe shoes, jeans or work-material pants, and ear plugs where needed.

The role involves regular use of hand tools and power tools, all of which are provided. Personal protective equipment is required, including safety glasses, steel toe shoes, jeans or work-material pants, and ear plugs in designated areas. The work is physically active and involves bending, lifting, and working in varied positions around vehicles in a structured production environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $20.00/hr.
