Master Planner Regular Full-TimeManagement WICHITA, KS, US  

Job Summary:

The Master Planner is responsible for planning and controlling all scheduling activities for component supply chain and is the key channel of communication between sales and operations. This includes balancing production and inventory levels with demand to support targeted customer service levels, inventory turn goals and capacity utilization. This role will interact with the Wichita Manufacturing Production Manager, Director of Purchasing and Sales teams.

 

Essential Functions:

 ·  Identify critical component shortages and work with internal and external supply chain for resolution 

· Collaborate with sales team on estimated ship dates for upcoming customer orders as well as to research ability to meet customer expedite requests 

· Work weekly with internal machining department to ensure schedule meets upcoming customer demand for components 

· Review and Identify Purchase Orders and internal jobs needing to be rescheduled out to retain lower inventory levels 

· Maintain updated forecasting information in the system using customer-provided data and information generated through the S&OP cycle 

· Distribute weekly reports on shortages, open orders, scheduled and planned shop hours 

· Maintain metrics for time delivery, projected delivery, and general operational performance and develop new metrics to monitor the overall performance to meeting planned objectives 

 

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft: 

· Excel – demonstrated ability to do Pivot tables and lookup functions 

· Advanced understanding of MRP Scheduling in ERP system (SAP preferred) 

· Ability to analyze and summarize large amounts of data into an easily comprehensible format and documents  

 

Skills & Knowledge Preferred:

  • Familiarity with SAP S4HANA 
  • Familiar with basic programming concepts, experience with SQL or VBA
  • Proficiency in Power BI and Metabase to develop, maintain, and analyze dashboards, KPIs, and operational performance metrics.

Required Education & Experience:

 · Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain or other business discipline or 

· 3 years’ experience planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment   

 

Preferred Education & Experience:

  · APICS Certified  

 

Physical Demands/Equipment used to perform the job:

  ·  Office environment which requires periods of prolonged sitting, typing on a computer keyboard (60 WPM), viewing a computer monitor and use of telephone
