Vehicle Upfitting & Assembly Technician

Build Custom Vehicles That Power Real Work

Join our team as a Vehicle Upfitting & Assembly Technician , where you’ll transform late-model trucks into fully customized, job-ready vehicles used across multiple industries.

This is more than assembly-it’s craftsmanship. You’ll install specialized equipment and create functional, high-quality builds in a clean, safety-first environment alongside a supportive, team-oriented crew.

What You’ll Do

+ Install cabinets, drawers, ladder racks, and specialty equipment into a variety of vehicles according to detailed build specs

+ Upfit primarily Ford trucks and similar vehicles , creating customized, work-ready solutions

+ Use hand and power tools to measure, drill, fasten, and assemble components with precision

+ Ensure every build meets high standards for quality, durability, and fit

+ Inspect completed work to confirm accuracy and consistency

+ Follow all safety guidelines and PPE requirements to maintain a safe work environment

+ Collaborate with team members to meet daily and weekly production goals

+ Stay organized by maintaining a clean, efficient workspace

+ Communicate clearly with leads and teammates on progress, materials, and support needs

What You Bring

+ Experience using hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, measuring tools)

+ Experience with power tools (drills, impact drivers, fastening equipment)

+ Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work

+ Ability to bend, lift, reach, and work in tight spaces

+ Dependability, strong work ethic, and a team-first mindset

Bonus Points If You Have

+ Prior vehicle upfitting or automotive installation experience

+ Familiarity with truck interiors, service bodies, or equipment outfitting

+ Experience reading build sheets, diagrams, or technical instructions

+ Comfort working in a production or manufacturing environment

Work Environment

You’ll work in modern, organized, indoor facilities (including a unique underground location), designed for efficiency and comfort. Teams are structured into small groups, allowing for collaboration while maintaining individual ownership of your work.

The role involves hands-on, physical work -including lifting, bending, and working inside or around vehicles. Required PPE includes safety glasses, steel-toe boots, and durable workwear, with hearing protection in designated areas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $20.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
