Job Description
The Assistant Coach for Track & Cross Country will support the Head Coach and Coordinators in all aspects of the athletic program, including practice preparation, game-day operations, student-athlete development, and recruiting activities. This position plays a key role in fostering a positive and competitive environment that promotes the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
Responsibilities include teaching and developing fundamental skills, techniques, and strategies as directed by the Head Coach, while providing instruction and mentorship to student-athletes. The Assistant Coach will assist with the issuance, collection, maintenance, and inventory of athletic equipment and help ensure the efficient operation of the program.
The Assistant Coach is expected to comply with all policies, procedures, and regulations established by the NJCAA and KJCCC and work closely with the Athletic Office to meet eligibility, compliance, and reporting requirements. This position will also assist the Head Coach in coordinating promotional activities, public relations events, and community engagement efforts through the Athletic Office.
In collaboration with Student Services, the Assistant Coach will help track and maintain required student-athlete information and support efforts related to academic progress and eligibility. The position requires maintaining regular office hours to provide accessibility and support to student-athletes while assisting with the daily administrative and operational functions of the athletic program.
Thorough knowledge of track and cross country. Previous experience as coach and/or player in track or cross country.
