Insight Global is looking for a Staff Python Developer to work fully onsite for one of our client’s based in the Kansas City, MO area. In this role, this person will serve as a senior technical contributor, partnering cross-functionally to deliver scalable, reliable Python-based solutions for enterprise and computational design workflows. This person will be responsible for the design, build, and maintenance of cloud-native applications, APIs, and integrations in Azure and GCP environments. This role provides architectural guidance and technical direction, influencing system design, performance, and maintainability. They support the full SDLC, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing operational support of cloud platforms. The developer leads efforts in code quality, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and system enhancements to ensure long-term reliability and scalability. Additionally, they promote best practices and leverage emerging tools and technologies to continuously improve development processes and system capabilities.

Skills and Requirements

- 5+ years related professional software development experience

- Professional experience with Python application development, API design, automated testing, debugging, and modern software engineering practices

- Experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-hosted applications or services in Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or similar

- Experience with web frameworks, REST APIs, data processing workflows, source control, CI/CD practices, and secure software development patterns

- Expert in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PPT)

- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
