Overview
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in Podiatry, also referred to as a Podiatry Certified Medical Assistant , or a Podiatry R egistered Medical Assistant (RMA) . Podiatry C ertified Medical Assistant ’ s will support podiatrists by performing clinical and administrative tasks specific to foot and ankle care. Podiatry C ertified M e d i c a l Assistant’s assist with exams, minor procedures, and patient education while ensuring smooth clinic operations in both outpatient and surgical podiatry settings. Responsibilities
- You must be a Certified Medical Assistant from the National Healthcare Association or other nationally recognized organization to move forward in this position. We do offer programs to help you get your Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
+ Prepare patients for podiatric exams by taking vitals reviewing medical history and setting up exam rooms
+ Assist with foot and ankle procedures including wound care nail treatments and minor surgeries
+ Sterilize instruments apply dressings or splints and support infection control protocols
+ Educate patients on diabetic foot care orthotics wound care and post-treatment instructions
+ Manage scheduling insurance verification referrals and EMR documentation for podiatry visits
Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:+ Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants, Surgical Technologists, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician clinic setting
+ Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained current
+ Current medical assistant credential from a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Credentialing organization required
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:+ 1 year experience as a medical assistant in a clinic setting, preferred
