SummaryThe CAD Designer I position is responsible for developing designs, layouts and product definitions of mechanical or electrical equipment, parts, and assemblies to create product definitions while using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs routine to moderately complex design tasks following established design-drafting methods and procedures.
Sets up experiments and documents results.
Contributes to technical designs and documentation.
Uses CAD models to calculate dimensions and tolerances to assure fit and function.
Recommends new ideas and concepts.
Encouraged to modify design as necessary with direct supervision approval.
Ensures quality of task completion to positively impact project outcomes.
You Must Have
High School diploma
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
United States Citizenship
Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of business
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
We Value
Entry level knowledge of computer-aided design tools normally acquired through technical training and/or a Bachelor's of Science or Science Technology degree in appropriate field or equivalent training and experience.
Ability to perform component research and recommend design alternatives and to independently accomplish tasks that may be sequenced with the work of others.
