Part-Time
Essential Job Functions:
- Creates a safe client environment by performing all required security and safety procedures
- Assists in the client's orientation of treatment goals, program rules and structure
- Submits a written incident report in the event of unusual client behavior or activity while in DCCCA's care
- Maintains an orderly and appealing classroom that is a warm and safe environment in which children are allowed to grow, develop and explore
- Implements programs and activities that develop the emotional, physical, intellectual and social needs of the children
- Prepares materials, makes lesson plans based on a curriculum outline and follows approved activity plans
- Interacts with the children on their level and encourages child involvement in activities
- Observes, records and reports significant individual and/or group behavior
- Allows for parent input on program activities
- Establishes and maintains good communication with parents on a daily basis
- Uses appropriate, positive and consistent discipline that helps to maintain classroom order
- Maintains accurate records and files
- Informs co-works, clinical and administrative staff of program goals/developments for children and parents
- Assigns support staff responsibilities, changes scheduled daily activities and room arrangements as necessary
- Discusses both positive and negative child behavior and activities with parents
- Job may require the employee to be able to regularly drive to various DCCCA locations and other business locations throughout the day including early morning or evening hours
- Other duties as assigned
