THE POSITION

Industrial Engineer, ContiTech USA, LLC, Halstead, KS:

Study time, motion, methods, or speed involved in production to establish standard production rate or improve efficiency. Verify that equipment is being operated and maintained according to quality assurance standards by observing worker performance. Assist in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures. Partner with local finance for opportunities to reduce cost. Analyze, estimate, or report production costs. Clearly document process capabilities and align processes on the floor with processes in the Administration area – scheduling, SCM, Production, Engineering. Control changes to these processes with clearly developed systems (BOMCR’s, DCR’s, etc.). Audit our production processes to make sure we are complying with established BOM’s, Routings, Standard Works, etc. Recommend corrective or preventive actions to assure or improve product quality or reliability.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a production environment.

Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Data analysis and process optimization experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • FMEAs, Control Plans, Lean Methods, PowerBI, Six Sigma, A3, and Structured Problem Solving tools to improve manufacturing processes;
  • Mapping and analyzing process flows and collecting cure-time data using software such as Visio, Excel or equivalent (such as bottleneck analysis, verifying cure standards, monitoring
    times, or validating compliance);
  • Troubleshooting or optimizing equipment (Presses, Extruders, Calenders, and Slitters) using data trends and mechanical adjustments;
  • Monitoring and controlling process variables (like pressure, speed, temperature) through PLC or SCADA based systems;
  • Performing basic capability analyses; and
  • Technical documentation including writing SOPs, deviation reports, and RCAs.

International travel required up to 10%; Domestic travel required up to 10%
