Job Description
Responsible for the coordination of resources and activities to ensure that products and goods are produced in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Specific activities often include scheduling, staffing recommendations, training, quality and inventory control, and equipment purchase and maintenance. In addition, they are responsible for maintaining consistency and communication between their department and other interrelated departments within the company to increase productivity and reduce downtime. Must report to Assembly Manager on recovery dates that are missed and offer suggestions and ideas to keep schedule on time. Must be flexible in their schedule. Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management or related field or equivalent work experience preferably in the Aerospace Industry
Job Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of knowledge and experience in a manufacturing/production environment
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment
Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and direct team member production in the Assembly department, including: assigning work, disseminating information, answering questions and resolving issues in a timely manner
- Suggest improvements in support of lean processes
- Ensure that scrap levels do not exceed department goals; take immediate action to determine the cause, develop a corrective action and implement it
- Create a positive work environment that employees thrive in
- Fully support management and the company in meeting the established goals
- Ensure on-time delivery to our customers
- Partner with other departments to ensure adherence to the Quality Management system and other compliance requirements
- Anticipate and react to production problems or delays, material shortages and equipment malfunctions
- Supervise employees, monitor employee training, approve payroll and conduct disciplinary actions
- Control costs within budget levels, minimizing scrap and rework cost
- Assist in accident investigations and corrective actions
- Collaborate with operations, leaders, purchasing, customer service and others to efficiently meet customer demand
- Provide visibility to management of potential quality issues, as well as input on internal perceptions associated with Quality and Delivery performance
- Review applicable organizational policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy and relevance, communicating policy and procedure updates and changes
- Perform other related duties, as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hire and train front-line employees
- Organize, direct, and oversee the schedules and work of front-line employees
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
- Work with department leaders to monitor each department and make recommendations to improve performance that impacts the organization
