Job Description
Valence Surface Technologies is a full-service surface finishing company specializing in the commercial aerospace, defense, space and satellite industries. With ten strategically located sites across the United States, Valence provides a start to finish solution from NDT and chemical processing, to paint and sub-assembly.
Position Summary:
Responsible for the efficient operation, organization, and assignment of area by shift at the plant. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and executes activities that carry out production activities and maximize throughput.
Responsibilities
Understands the Valence Surface Technologies Code of Conduct policy, leading by example
Organizes assigned area to ensure ready access to and knowledge of all orders currently in process on a daily work basis
Effectively communicates with customer service regarding work that is in the area or coming to the area for processing
Maintains the shop in an orderly and well-kept manner
Operates within established safety, quality, and financial guidelines
Works closely with Production Management and supervisors on other shifts/departments to determine daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules
Maintains schedule and reassigns labor as work load changes
Knows what needs to be done on a daily basis to keep the work moving through the production process
Executes schedule with a sense of urgency, and with sincere concern for safety, quality, timeliness, and cost consciousness
Maintains and monitors appropriate documentation on all orders
Effectively supervises employees
Gives adequate direction, counsels employees on performance issues/concerns, provides assistance and/or training where appropriate
Initiates disciplinary actions where necessary according to established procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
2+ years of aerospace painting.
Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety regulations (including OSHA compliance).
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing production needs.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
Export Compliance Requirement
This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws.
