Job Description
Responsibilities:
Communicates and coordinates with other departments in order to fulfill customers’ needs. First point of customer contact for general inquiries, like product availability, pricing, shipment scheduling etc. Builds and maintains business relationship with clients and suppliers by providing prompt and accurate service.
- Primary Duties:
Customer service- Handle calls/email, schedule shipments, problem resolution, and effective interpretation of customer request. - Understand basic transportation terms, be able to identify the following documents: bill of lading, proof of delivery, carrier freight bill, driver daily activity log, pre-trip inspection.
- Dispatch and communicate with drivers daily for estimated time of arrival, piece counts. Report late, missing, or damaged freight timely.
- Complete daily dock report, maintain truck and driver boards, collect driver paperwork daily.
- Maintain office, warehouse, and equipment supplies.
- Build shipments and enter freight assignments using dispatch software.
- Performs other duties as assigned
