Job Description
A welder is responsible for joining metal parts using various welding techniques to create strong, durable structures and components. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, selecting appropriate materials and welding methods, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. Welders may work on a wide range of projects, including fabrication, repair, and maintenance in industries such as manufacturing, construction, and agriculture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform welding tasks using methods such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces
- Inspect finished welds to ensure structural integrity and quality
- Repair damaged metal components and equipment
- Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
