Day to Day: The primary function of this role will be to support equally two credit administrative functions relevant to commercial/agricultural lending (hereafter referred to as "commercial") funding through 1) The spreading of financial statements and tax returns of customers and prospects into a computer program, for use by lenders and management in making lending decisions. And 2) ordering, scheduling and receiving appraisals/evaluations and performing appraisal reviews for properties (commercial, agricultural, residential) in accordance with Bank and legal regulations (including state and federal). Other day-to-day functions may include:
  • Responsible for spreading financial statements and tax returns based upon information provided by lender(s) on behalf of customers and prospects.
  • Communicate with lender(s), as necessary, including but not limited to, informing lender(s) if additional information is necessary to complete the spreads. 
  • Generate financial ratios, using a computer program, to evaluate customers' financial status.
  • In coordination with other department employees, ensure financial statements and tax returns are imaged to the credit file and financial ticklers are appropriately updated
  • Communicate with appraisers on Approved Appraisers' list to determine availability to perform appraisal assignment. Schedules appraisal and monitor report return dates.
  • Maintain current spreadsheet of appraisal order requests.
  • Receive appraisal reports and complete internal review of appraisals; request updates from appraisers as needed. 
  • Coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payment of appraisal invoices. 
  • Review non-complex and complex commercial, agricultural, and/or residential appraisals and write administrative reviews. Requires ability to determine compliance with Appraisal Regulations and appropriateness of appraisers' reasoning, logic, and conclusions. Reviewer will communicate results to loan officer. 
  • Request any appraisal corrections that are deemed necessary, monitor return dates for corrections. 
  • Communicate with appraisers/AMC's to obtain clarification and additional supporting explanations and/or data as deemed necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining a quality control system that evaluates and monitors the ongoing performance of appraisers.
  • Responsible for making recommendations to management regarding the continuation, limitations, or removal of an appraiser from the approved appraiser list.
  • Provide support to all areas of the Credit Administration Division as directed or where service or assistance is needed; demonstrate superior customer service with appropriate follow through with involved appraisers and employees. 
  • Handle customer and loan officer inquiries on loans and/or collections of a deposit account. 
  • Conduct problem resolution and communicate with officers or customer(s) the findings.
  • Run daily query of posted DDA charged off deposits.
  • Generate and mail DDA 30 day collection notice and mail prior day letters
  • Monthly post payments from CBCS and balance this clearing account.
  • Report charged-off deposit accounts to Chex Systems, forward the necessary account(s) to Collection Agency.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

Experience:
Qualified applicants should have two to five years of similar or related experience with prior experience working in credit administration, loan operations, finance, or other banking-related field preferred. Candidates should also have a college degree in accounting or a business-related field. A basic understanding of accounting concepts (including GAAP) should be demonstrated. Also, this person should also be detail oriented and demonstrate a commitment to both accuracy and timeliness in their work product. Additionally, the position requires someone who exhibits great customer service and communication skills.
