Compensation:
$18.60 hourly
Employees earn an additional $0.50 shift differential per hour worked on 2nd shift.

Position Summary & ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:
This position is responsible for prepping and cooking a variety of foods in a large volume from provided menus for residents of the Kansas Veterans Home. Operates cooking equipment as well as cleaning and sanitizing equipment. For a full position description, please contact the Recruiter listed below.
Qualifications-
Minimum Qualifications:- One (1) year of experience in commercial/institutional cooking
- Be free from conviction of a criminal offense that prevents employment with the Kansas Veterans Home.

Preferred Qualifications: (May be used to screen candidates)
- Six (6) months of experience cooking in a residential or hospital setting
- A positive work history in the food service field
- Positive work history in the food service field in the previous five (5) years.

Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:
- Must take and pass a drug screening within 24 hours of being offered the position.
- Obtain a Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate (Request yours here.)
- Pass a criminal background screening.
