Job Description
What You Can Expect Working in the Welder I Position
A Welder I is responsible for the welding and final installation of steel components in the production of residential and commercial storm shelters, engineered metal buildings, and other industrial buildings. In this role, you will be required to work with cranes, jigs, torches, plasma, hand tools, and welding machines on a continual basis as well as meeting RGDS Quality Standards. As a Welder, you are integral in supporting RedGuard Diversified Structures' goal of delivering customers a quality product on time.
Responsibilities
- Proficiently welds components in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
- Prepares and sets up materials for welding, including using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Operates welding equipment, including power tools and material handling equipment like overhead cranes
- Maintains schedule and budgets for the task at hand and the overall project.
- Cross-trains and uses additional trade skills in multiple stages of the manufacturing process as assigned.
- Follows established safety and security rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area and environment
