Job Description
- Operate molding presses and open/close molds for production needs and repairs.
- Set, pull, clean, and inspect molds to ensure proper installation, completeness, and readiness for production.
- Troubleshoot basic mold‑related issues and verify correct nozzle length, carriage settings, clamp stops, and safety features.
- Confirm that all electrical, water, and air hookups are functioning properly and free of leaks; test molds for electrical, water, and air performance before release.
- Clean, check, wire, and maintain mold heaters and mold components as needed.
- Maintain accurate mold maintenance records, documenting dates, work completed, and responsible personnel.
- Keep molding machine areas and shop workspaces clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist Tool Room staff with mold and equipment repairs and report damaged molds or supply needs to Tooling leadership.
- Green‑tag molds that meet production‑ready standards and complete inspections as required.
- Follow all safety procedures and shut down equipment immediately when hazards to personnel or property are present.
