PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position is being offered on a temporary-to-hire basis. The initial assignment will be temporary, with the opportunity for permanent hire based on performance, attendance, and business needs. Perform work tasks to satisfy customer requirements and/or other assigned contracts. Fulfill mission statement.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
- Primary: Production Manager/Supervisor
- Secondary: Team Leader/Contracts and Director, Business Services
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with individuals who have disabilities and or barriers to employment and participate in the achievement of their goals. Demonstrate a positive, role model. Display commitment and involvement towards Goodwill's mission.
JOB PROFICIENCIES: Ethics and Trust, Oral Communications, Cooperation, Credibility, Integrity, Initiative, Quality, Teamwork, Accuracy, Adaptability, Dependability, Safety and Security.
JOB COMPETENCIES: Ability to perform complex work tasks to satisfy customer requirements. Maintain personal/individual production records. Successfully assemble, package, and label miscellaneous contracts. The job entails packaging and emphasizes previous forklift experience. Meets minimum production/quality standards in department. Reads and understands work sheets. Ability to use hand tools such as box knife, scale, and label makers. Understands ISO requirements. Able to do simple math.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- To perform work tasks to satisfy customer requirements
- To bring attention to detail.
- To assemble, package, count, and label miscellaneous contracts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inform supervisor when materials are running low.
- Secure equipment and/or materials as instructed.
- Report to the supervisor immediately upon completion of assigned work.
- Complete each step, in order, as instructed, not taking short cuts or altering procedures without specific approval from supervisor.
- Keep area and tools neat, organized, and clean.
- Adhere to all safety policies and report violations.
- Adhere to all ethical standards and confidentiality of records.
- Support mission statement and activities needed by other departments.
- Support the accessibility of services and facilities relating to architectural, attitudinal, environmental, financial, communication, transportation, employment, and other barriers to persons with disabilities and barriers to employment.
- Take trash to the compactor.
- Clean work areas during last 10 minutes of work day.
- Complete daily production forms.
- Comply with ISO procedures and seek continued improvement.
- Locate templates and material and return them to their proper location.
- Support and value team.
- Function with minimal supervision.
- Eliminate re-work.
- Other duties as assigned.
STANDARDS FOR MEASURING PERFORMANCE/QUALITY STANDARDS:
- Attendance and punctuality.
- Quality and quantity of work performed on simple and complex insulation blankets and other contracts.
- The ability to uphold the general policies of Goodwill Industries of Kansas, Inc.
- Attitude and overall effectiveness of working relations with employees, peers, stakeholders and service providers.
- Able to keep production records.
- Supports and values diversity.
- The manner in which duties and responsibilities, essential functions and job competencies are performed.
- Initiative to try new tasks.
- Adaptability to new contracts.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
- Lift -- push/pull while standing - up to 30 pounds on a daily basis.
- Carry -- push/pull while moving - up to 30 pounds on a daily basis.
