Machine Operator – Job SummaryWe are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Machine Operator to join our team in a steel fabrication environment. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in the production of steel components. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate fabrication machinery such as saws, presses, drills, CNC equipment, robotic beam line and burn table
- Set up machines according to specifications and production requirements
- Monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality and efficiency
- Measure and inspect parts to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and report mechanical issues as needed
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production schedules
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions
- Familiarity with measuring tools, such as tape measure
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to safely operate a forklift
- Dependable with strong work ethic and time management skills
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Ability to work independently and use sound judgment
- Willingness to learn through hands-on training and instruction
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Ability to lift and handle materials (typically up to 75+ lbs.)
- Comfortable working around heavy machinery and in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, and production conditions
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced setting
- Pre-employment physical and drug screening required.
