Purpose Statement
To provide support to the food service activities at assigned location with specific responsibilities for preparing and serving food items to students and/or school personnel; verifying quality of food and supplies; maintaining facilities in a safe and sanitary condition and guiding assigned personnel in the performance of their job functions.
Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized procedures; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the organization’s services.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting up to 40 lbs, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 45% walking, and 50% standing. The job is performed under temperature extremes and under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.

Supervises No supervisory responsibilities
Education High School Diploma or GED preferred
Qualifications Must be able to read, write and comprehend written and oral instructions
Experience Previous experience with quantity food preparation and service preferred
Terms School year work schedule. Salary determined by current salary schedule
FLSA Status Non-Exempt
Evaluation Performance evaluated by Director of Food Service
Continuing Education/Training Certificates & Licenses
Annual Training Videos Food Safety Basics (must hold
Annual continuing education on food service within 30 days of start date)
