Job Description
Agricultural Engineer (Cimarron, KS) multiple openings
- Provides professional services in range management, and soil and water conservation activities while assisting in the planning of conservation practices on company owned land. (12% percentage of time; daily)
- Make recommendations over plant population and soil technology to improve cattle performance. (10% percentage of time; daily)
- Contribute to the growth of feed crops that are grown for animal consumption. (10% percentage of time; daily)
- Advise cattle producers in animal production, management, health, and nutrition. (10% percentage of time; daily)
- Take lead on implementing soil moisture probes onto the farm and interpret data to make irrigation recommendations to lower water consumption. (6% percentage of time; daily)
- Recommend products, timing, and rates for crop nutrition and protection products for crops grown to feed cattle. (6% percentage of time; daily)
- Maintain/improve current Access system for the tracking of feed. (6% percentage of time; daily)
- Provide combined experience in animal production, management, health, and nutrition to deliver tailored advice to cattle producer. (5% percentage of time; daily)
- Contribute to the management of soil that deals with the production of both plant and animal. (5% percentage of time; daily)
- Engage in responsive crop management practices to enhance production of crops used to feed cattle. (5% percentage of time; daily)
- Analyze/improve if necessary current system security. (5% percentage of time; daily)
- Oversee the irrigation system on the feed yard farm ground. (2% percentage of time; daily)
- Implement best management practices on the landscape to promote the success of the cattle. (2% percentage of time; daily)
- Re-integrate livestock and crops to improve profitability by using sustainable farming practices. (2% percentage of time; daily)
- Use scientific research to find new ways to boost yields, profits, and sustainability for the feed yards. (2% percentage of time; daily)
- Continuously observe and understand proper company policies and procedures. (2% percentage of time; daily)
- Conduct research in breeding, physiology, production, yield, and management of crops used to feed cattle. (2% percentage of time; daily)
- Provide reporting on cattle on pasture performance. (2% percentage of time; daily)
- Complies with applicable OSHA, FDA, and EPA regulations; maintains appropriate compliance records. (2% percentage of time; daily)
- Continuously observe and understand proper company policies and procedures. (2% percentage of time; daily)
- Provide training on best practices. Ensure the safety of all team members. (2% percentage of time; daily)
