In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA. In this position, the successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, complete assigned tasks on time, execute contracts that meet compliance requirements and adhere to internal policies, clearly articulate contractual risks to management, counsel, and the business, and ensure obligations outlined in the Prime Contract are met. The ability to quickly change course and adapt to meet the needs of the business is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities- Reviews, redlines, and negotiates contracts.
- Works with Legal Counsel, Contracts Analysts, management, suppliers, and internal customers.
- Interfaces with multiple business functions to ensure Prime Contract and policy requirements are understood and implemented.
- Analyzes Department of Energy (“DOE”) and government procurement requirements and develops, refines, and administers KCNSC contractor procurement policies and processes to ensure compliance with DOE requirements.
- Functions in a lead advisory role providing guidance to the business regarding contracting activities.
- Reviews and updates templates utilized across the business.
- Makes risk-based decisions derived from contractual requirements, dollar value, risk/reward, and other variable factors based on each unique situation.
- Focuses on the continual improvement, especially regarding speed, quality, and simplicity of contract formation and management processes without compromising compliance.
- Bachelors degree in Business or technical discipline
- 7 years of relevant contract administration, or contract management experience
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
- Prefer 2 or more years experience in government contract administration/management
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks and provide sound business judgement
- Demonstrate strong communication skills (written and oral)
- JD, MBA, or Certified Federal Contract Management certificate preferred
- Sig Sigma Certification preferred
