Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related
responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary.
Essential Functions
An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other
business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and
recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
Manages freight inventory and stocking of freight by inspecting freight for damage and misplacement (for example 'strays'); ensuring proper freight is
received and placed in appropriate location; comparing label on freight to label on shelving; comparing and verifying freight label information (for
example, vendor stock number, description on labels, pack quantity); placing freight on rollers, slots/shelves or conveyers to ensure sufficient
quantities; monitoring freight size; and contacting designated associate if freight is too large or small (for example, size changes).
Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy;
and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
Maintains a safe work area by checking the integrity of trailers/pallets (for example, leaks, pest infestation, trailer damage); providing basic
maintenance to receiving equipment (for example, cleaning, changing labels and ribbons); and organizing work area (for example, stacking empty
pallets, and moving empty pallets using a pallet jack or power equipment).
Manages freight flow by processing, identifying, counting, separating and scanning freight; monitoring freight movement on conveyer; clearing jams;
operating computer software and basic applications to track and identify freight; unloading freight from trailer manually or with power equipment; and
maintaining records, logs and forms (for example, completing production sheets).
Maintains merchandise supply by replenishing pallets of merchandise onto/from racks or docks; pulling merchandise using labels, electronic voice
control equipment and/or RF gun; stacking freight onto pallets; and transporting freight using pallet jack, powered equipment (for example, RR,
stockpicker, PE, tugger) or carts.
