Sr Project Manager Continuity of Operations

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluates, determines, and drives program management activities to manage one or more moderate to significantly complex program/project elements, as part of the Continuity of Operations (COOP) team.. 
  • Provides expertise to review and drive execution of innovative solutions to program/project issues. 
  • Develops cost, scope, and schedule framework for projects and program activities; manages and intervenes as necessary to ensure delivery to cost, scope, and schedule agreements. 
  • Drives primary support and guidance to the financial planning, monitoring, scheduling, and preparation and release of technical/schedule information required for program/project planning. 
  • Coaches and Mentors program/project managers and other team members.
  • Develops, updates, and tests continuity plans to ensure national security functions can resume quickly after all types of continuity events.
  • Aligns continuity plans with federal directives and guidelines.
  • Conducts regular drills, exercises, and simulations to train 7,500+ staff members on continuity procedures.
  • Collaborates with KCNSC Emergency Management, Infrastructure and Facilities, IT, and Security teams to assess risk and integrate COOP into broader resiliency strategies. 
You Must Have
  • Ability to travel as per business needs. 
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business. 
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in project planning, engineering of products or processes or contract management. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering or 2 additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a degree. 
  • United States Citizenship 
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)

  • Possesses general knowledge of supply chain management, demand management, contract management, and financial Management.   
  • Possesses Project Management Institute (PMI) and Agile certifications.
  • Possesses general knowledge of supply chain management, demand management, contract management, and financial Management. 
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and managing BCM programs consistent with industry standards (i.e., ISO 22301, NFPA 1600). Understanding of relevant BCM software platforms and tools for BIA, risk assessment, incident management, and reporting is essential.
  • Possess industry-recognized certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), FEMA Master/Professional Continuity Practitioner, Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) from DRI International, or ISO 22301 Lead Implementer/Auditor.
