The Opportunity KanPak® is seeking a Plant Accountant to support financial operations at our Arkansas City facility. This role plays a critical part in cost accounting, financial analysis, inventory management, and month‑end close, partnering closely with plant leadership to drive operational and financial performance. Key Responsibilities
- Perform cost accounting activities, including standard cost maintenance, BOM review, and variance analysis
- Analyze actual costs vs. standard costs; monitor purchase price variance (PPV)
- Support inventory accounting, reserves, and reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month‑end close and financial reporting
- Review manufacturing variances and cost center reporting with management
- Track capital expenditures and complete monthly capital roll‑forward
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and labor efficiency reporting
- Prepare required internal and external reports, including dairy inventory and loss/damage tracking
- Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with internal controls
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Controller
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel required)
- Experience in food or aseptic manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
