Job Description Summary:
The Visiting Research Fellowship role will train and learn under the direction of a Principal Investigator in the area of Clinical Research. Term: One year.

Job Duties Outlined
- Initiate investigator-initiated clinical studies, including IRB submission, data collection, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and journal submission.
- Prepare and submit case studies.
- Conduct clinical research projects (including patient screening and recruitment, informed consent, chart review, data submission, etc.).
- Provide written and verbal reports to the Principal Investigator and Project Manager.
- Recruit and educate potential patients and assess their eligibility for studies under the guidance of the principal investigator.
- Participate in quality assurance activities by reviewing clinical data in medical record charts, assessing pharmacy compliance with protocol criteria, and reviewing study documentation to ensure compliance.
- Work closely with the Research Institute and Human Research Protection Program and have a working knowledge of KUMC policies and procedures.
- Review and assist with the assessment of research protocols.
- Coordinate study participant visit activities including scheduling procedures, communicating with subjects, and completing necessary basic study procedures.
- Review publication-ready manuscripts for the Kansas Journal of Medicine to learn critical review.
- Give oral presentations and talks as advised.
- Discuss any current clinical trials if applicable to research involvement via CCR meetings.

Required Qualifications
Education: MD or foreign equivalency.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
