Job Description
A Programmer/Machinist is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts and components. This role combines hands-on machining expertise with technical programming skills to ensure parts are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program CNC machines using CAM software and/or manual G-code programming
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment
- Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Troubleshoot machining or programming issues and implement solutions
- Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards
